3.0 out of 5 stars installing male snap heads, November 3, 2011
This review is from: Ironwood Pacific Outdoors Snap Setter (Misc.)
Just to let you know (review stated no directions) that you turn it around to install a male snap. You place the flat back of the male snap up against the concave bowl where the female snap head would sit, center as best you can and gently squeeze, open and rescrew and squeeze again. Be sure to punch a hole first for new snap installations with a nice sharp awl that is tapered. The diameter of the awl should match the diameter of the snap post. Essentially a rivet. This is for canvas to canvas snapping, otherwise, install the male snap end always when screwing down to a hard surface. Hope this helps.

3.0 out of 5 stars Snap Repairs, September 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Ironwood Pacific Outdoors Snap Setter (Misc.)
A couple of problems. 1-No instructions. 2-only does the outer snap, not the inside or male side of the snap. Most snap setters adjust to do both sides of the snap. This is what I expected with this one. How do you do the other side if replacing the entire snap or adding a new one?

The good news is that it did work. You just have to close the plyers, open and adjust, close again, repeat this step over and over until you can't close the plyers anymore. It did do a good job.
