Bought to replace 15yr old cranks on my MTB that had begun to shift shabbily. This crank restored shifting to like new (as best as I can remember it). Almost bought a set for my touring bike, but it put gearing a tad low.Chainrings are riveted together so you can't replace them individually. I have 3 other newer and better mountain bikes, and this one was just collecting dust with old worn-out components, so I decided to convert it for shorter-distance road riding with skinny 26" road tires. The old crankset was bent and it was easier to buy a new one with new bottom bracket than to try to straighten out the old one.This crankset did the trick, and it was reasonably priced. With a new BB and front derailleur, the old fully rigid workhorse was back in use, albeit for a different purpose. I have had some issues with the left crank bolt working loose a few times, but I removed the crank arm and put a very thin amount of grease on the bolt and BB taper before reinstalling with proper torque and haven't had any problems since. I'm giving it 4 stars because if it was used off-road (as intended), it wouldn't work nearly as well as the newer BB systems...
